plumbing problems-Recently after kitchen sink drains freely, it moans and groans.?

We are on a septic tank but have no problems other than the moaning and groaning in the kitchen sink.

  1. it sounds like the sink is not vented or the vent is clogged. in a plumbing system a pipe is connected to each drainage pipe and terminates above the roof to facilitate drainage. if it is non existent or plugged drainage is slowed and noisy. if the sink drains anyway its only an inconvenience and a costly fix
  2. I agree with louis. Have the plumbing vent either cleared or installed (you will likely need a plumber). I think he made a typo when he said it would be a costly fix. This should not cost much at all to fix.
