is bamboo flooring ok for use in boats?

2. I am a marine carpenter. I only work on mega-yachts. I have never heard of anything like this. I do know that bamboo is an outstanding, utilitarian material. E-mail me next week, to remind me, and I will ask all of the local boat builders what they know about it. Out of the 40 or so boat builders that I know (most are top notch 'old school' craftsman), I am sure that I can get some sound advice for you. Let me know what standard you are trying to achieve. Is this a budget issue? Do you have a bunch of it laying around? Do you prefer the look of bamboo over other materials? Are you in a salt-water environment, or a fresh-water environment? What kind of boat is this? Just give me the big picture, so I can get the best possible advice for you.
