is it ok to have a puppy when i have like bamboo flooring (kinda similar to wood) ?. please help. i'm gettin a puppy in 3 days!!!!!!!!!! first time. i know this is in the wrong section but its an emergency

  1. NO! the puppy will scratch it and ruin it, believe me, i kno! ihad a puppy and she chewed wood like crazy!! but im afraid, it's a bit too late for you now!!! = ]

  7. it depends. Some puppies aren't potty trained yet and pee on the floor, and wood is asorbent, and the room may stink
  8. What I've been reading is that bamboo is naturally antimicrobial, so it shouldn't make him sick, and shouldn't hold germs if he urinates or worse. I don't know about the tendencies of puppies to eat all kinds of things. (You don't say exactly what's worrying you.)
  9. well if there like big cracks in it then it might not be a good ideal but if the puppy wont fall in the cracks then you and the puppy should be good. and if your still worrie put a gaint rug on the floor.
  10. Most small dogs can't walk on wood, and the rest scratch your floor. I would buy a cheap carpet and try to keep him or her on it.

  12. well i have bamboo floors and i have 3 dogs and 3 cats. they have been ok so far. i noticed though that when furiture gets moved the floors scratch easier. but the scratches can be buffed out. i think your puppy should do just fabulous in your house. but do be careful...
  13. Probably not the smartest Idea. Pups have the tendency to tear things up...no matter what it is. If you do, your going to have to give it your undevided attention, and make sure it stays off that flooring!!! More than anything, keep its claws cut, or they will scratch the floor. You are going to have to keep this pup very contained!!! GOod luck!!!
  14. It really depends on the dog. Make sure to clip it's nails every so often, making sure it doesn't scratch the flooring. Some dogs aren't potty trained, so you'll either have to keep him outside, or train him, because some bamboo flooring is absorbent... Just be careful.
  15. ok as long as it is clean. any it defends upon a puppy either your puppy is hybrid or native cause hybrid puppies needs extra care

NO! not until they are trained but a cat would be worse...they'd use it as a scratching post,but still the puppy pissin & poopin and occassionally throwing up is gonna ruin it for real, you may want to reconsider this one,its gonna stain like you wouldn't believe and this is a stain you cannot ever get out either.
