Ok i wont sugar coat anything ill say it all. In my bathroom where there is white lights i look prettyy!BUT in my bedroom where the lighting is usually just the sun i look ugly.In my school locker room the huge mirror with really dimmed lighting i look ugly but in the bathroom in the lockeroom with white lights i look pretty.I mean WHAT THE HELL?Isnt eithe rim pretty or im ugly?which is more accurate? Now im thikning im just ugly because if i were pretty id be pretty in all mirrors but then again i think i have the type of face that depends on lighting for it to be pretty or not.

- lol! it think yea it does.
- It also helps to squint and turn your head to one side.
- its like that for me. it just depends on the lighting on how u look then. lol i dont like that
- SHALLOW
- lights from above make everyone look great. lights from below are bad for most everyone. (even celebs)
- Yes. In fact that was an episode on seinfeld where it looked like 2 completely different women. :]
- Its just when you see well enough in broght light you see you self better thats y u look pretty and which means u are. I bet u r pretty. Try looking into a water reflection sometime. it can't be deceptive.
- yes light matters. Reflection is seeing what light reflects and if the lighting changes so does the reflection. Think about how toward evening right before dark a blue flower will appear to be purple, then eventually black. Lighting changes everything.
- lol.Lights and mirrors are mean things anyway.Walk by a street store window.I think there more accurate. They show one as one is.
- I know what you mean - florescent lights are something to be wary of too. But that's why photographers manipulate lighting for photos - good lighting in the right places makes everyone look good. Not only does the lighting matter but the shape of the mirror. Kind of like a fun house, the manufacturer can bend the mirror a certain way to make things look thinner, wider, taller or skinnier - so it really depends on what mirror you're looking into too. You're not the only one with the same dilemma - I love my car rear view mirror, hate the mall mirrors. Lol
- Lighting is important to all girls, not just you. If a photographer gets lighting right, he can make a plain girl look stunning. Lighting from above is usually the best. If you don't know whether you are pretty, ask your friends and parents and they will tell you. I think you are worrying too much, though.
- Candlelight/dim lights like in a bathroom, always make you look more flattering. Natural light is the best light to do your make-up, especially when applying foundation because it shows much more. Unfortunately it also shows any imperfections like uneven skin tone/texture more clearly. That's just the way it goes girly.
- LOL Yes, lighting makes a big difference. To prove it, get a flashlight and point it under your chin with the lens partially exposed. Turn it on and see how you look in a mirror. We did this on Halloween as kids. It makes a natural horror mask. lol. For peace of mind, you are not ugly. Ugliness comes from within from people with a cold heart that get a kick out of hurting other people.
- It's all about how YOU feel.
- it definitely the lighting....you're pretty! the same thing happens to me! but just remember while you're looking in your "pretty mirror" that people cant tell the difference in lighting.... school bathrooms have horrible lighting! lighting at your house is usually more even. most of the time you're in even lighting so people will see the pretty you! just dont worry your pretty! i know how u feel! i hate the freaking lighting in my school's bathroom!
- It's not only the lighting itself that makes a big difference, but a lot of mirrors are actually warped! Besides you are judging your own face more harshly then other people do, because our brains compensate for different kinds of lighting when we look at other people. If you think you look pretty in at least some mirrors, you probably are pretty.
- Yeah- usually you can tell how you look by natural sunlight. In one light it can look like glowing great skin, in another light more along the lines of red blotchy skin.
- i m not sure
