my halogen light (connected to main lighting circuit) has stopped working.what could it be?

basically, the light stopped working for no reason. one minute it was on, the next the whole thing just switched off and won't come back on again. i have checked the bulbs (it has 4 of them) and they are fine. it is connected to the main lighting circuit, and the rest of the lights on the circuit work perfectly. i wondered if anyone here had any ideas on how to help sort this out, as its a bit of a pain not having a main bedroom light!!

  1. These halogens usually run of a low voltage transformer. Has the transformer cut out for some reason. These sometimes get plugged/wired into the Ring Main. Hope this helps.
  2. Its called a ballast and its not low voltage, its actually higher than the 115 VAC from the outlet. Not worth replacing, you will have to buy a new lamp
  3. 1. ghosts 2. circuit has broken connecting to halogen 3. loose wire im not an expert as u can see
  4. check your fusebox.. maybe the mcb has tripped...
