what are the lighting regulatons on light from a street lamp directly shining into bedroom and living room?
There is a footpath outside and the lamp is situated in my front garden. The lamp faces towards my house and illuminates the living room and bedroom. What are the regulations regarding siting of lamp and light pollution?

- This is happening to me!! grrr the council came along and have put a big street light outside of my bedroom window. It's getting on my nerves and I find it hard to go to sleep. I have phoned the council to come and do something and then wont so I guess I just have to put up with it. Sorry sweetie I feel for you I really do.
- Don't think there are any regulations about the light from a street light entering you home.I think it is just up to you to fit suitable curtains if you find the light a nuisance. You could ask the council who are responsible for street lighting as to your problem, but I don't think anybody will do anything.
- They can be half covered so the light wont shine into your rooms. They have done this with pedestrian crossings where the orange light shines into peoples houses. Get in touch with the Council Street lighting dept. and ask them to do something about it.
