upstairs bedroom lighting?

i have converted 1 large bedroom into 2 smaller bedrooms for my kids.there was a single pendant light in the centre of the room.i have fitted 2 50w gu10 downlights in each room and was wondering how they should be wired.should they be wired in sequence.it.s just i have tried it this way but they kept tripping the circuit breaker out every so often. the total bulb wattage upstairs is 224 watts 2 x 50watt in each bedroom 1 x 12 watt energy saver bulb in my room and in the bathroom

  1. You need to up your amp on mcb(circuit breaker).
  2. they should be wired in parallel ie live to live neutral to neutral as to why the mcb is tripping might be anything perhaps the wires from the original pendant get an electrician to have a look if your not sure
  3. You have wired it correctly in the first place, 112watts/0.48amps is nothing so therefore i assume you have made a bad connection in the first place. Check all of your connections and the switches in the room: check for carbon deposits, (black residue) bare copper in terminal blocks, loose connections and remake them off if you find any.
  4. AC wiring is always done in parallel. All the white wires are connected together and all the black wires are wired together in each location. And of course, all the grounds are wired together. If you connect a white to a black you will trip the circuit breaker.
  5. Its very easy if you know what you are doing.. I am an electronics engineer. You should get an electrician to to it for you as it is quite dangerous if you have no idea what you are doing. Its quite easy to give the 2 rooms seperate lighting. but this live feed must come from the 5 amp lighting circuit. I could draw a diagram out for ya but have no idea where you come from or what voltage system you are usin ..U.S..or U.K
