where can i download a free kitchen design program ( cad ) preferably in metric rather than the usa imperial?

1. I don't think you can download cad for free anywhere.

3. sketchUP!!!! sketchup is the best 3d design softwsre i have ever come accross. sketch up 5 costs but there is a free version known as google sketch up or something. 4. ARES. Go here to download the program http://aresgalaxy.sourceforge.net/ when you do, go to search, select software and write the name of the program you need ares will look if someone in its network has it and if they do you will be able to download it.
