Bedroom / Kitchen design software?

My brother in law has just started his own business, he fits custom kitchens and bedroom cupboards etc. He would like to design them first on the computer to give the customer a view of how it will look like when finished. We have tried other home design softwares, but they are too complicated and take to long. I am looking for a simple software where we can just set the sizes of the cupboards and the positions and get a 3D view of it. Also i would like to be able to upload specific cupboard designs on to it e.g. colour, patterns, wood grains etc. So if you know of any good software for this please let me know. You help is much appreciated.
