Need fixture color ideas for a purple bathroom?
So my wife thought it would be a great idea to paint the bathroom purple.... okay that's fine, but whenever I go in there, I think of the Joker from Batman. I want to get a more classy and clean look in the bathroom. The floors and ceilings are white as are the shower and blinds. But we have all these fixtures (cabinet, towel rack, sink cabinet, lighting box) that are wood and they just look ugly with the purple. What color should I use on these fixtures? If anyone says green, I'll strangle them..... lol Also, what kind of accents with what colors will add class to the bathroom.

- Silver fixtures would look great in a purple bathroom. Also, light blues would make a nice accent color... but not too much of it!
- Chrome/Silver? Purple!! Egads!!
- chrome fixtures would look a bit more masculine or you could go with a yellow accent depending on how dark your purple is. I think chrome would just pop tho. good luck
- I used black in mine, but white may do too. I'd accent with a yellow or red.
- Black instantly brings the class level up. Black (in wood, it would be black with gray highlights), coupled with brushed nickel faucets and fixtures would change the character with fairly low cost. Look at all the elements, down to door handles and hinges, so that all the metal is the same tone, or at least all 'silver' instead of a combination of brass, chrome, etc.
- I would go with brushed nickle fixtures. They're not super shiny and look very classy.
- Towel bars, toothbrush holder etc - they should be polished brass to class up the purple. If you have wood that can be painted, I'd say go with the same white as the ceiling & floors. My stepmother has done theirs in purple & her cabinetry is wood, but a light color with a nice shine to it. For accent colors you could go with a lighter shade of violet, deep forest green, pure white. If you can limit it to that color scheme, white, purple, forest green & violet it should look really good & not overpowering. Have fun with it!!!
- I'm thinking gray or coral.
- I would go with rich tones of Gold (and Green) LMAO.sorry could not help myself.. The Gold will definitely give the bathroom an elegant look!
- Paint everything white that can be painted - cabinets, etc. buy brushed nickle towels bars, etc. Buy a stripe or plaid shower curtain that has shades of purple, white, and yellow or orange in it. Do not skimp on the fabric for the windows and shower curtain as the more fabric, the more expensive it looks....and at the same time it will tone down the purple. Buy striped rugs, add candles, and some great pictures that have the same colors in them. Florals would work beautifully. Hope this helps.
