How do I wire rope lighting?

I want to put rope lighting above my cabinets, but they are not all in a line. There is 1 cabinet then the window (no cabinet above and then a big section of cabinets, then a break, then the refrigerator w/ cabinets. How can I get all of these cabinets to have rope lights all on the same switch? Also, can I cut rope lights to fit the top of my cabinets, so there is no overhang?

1. You would have to put switched outlets above each cabinet section on the same switch . Some rope lights can be cut and some cant usually the cheaper ones you cant cut
