How do I design a house....?

I'd like to eventually have an enormous family. I've been looking over house plans for something that would work for a family with 5-10 children, and I'm not finding anything that seems efficient as well as within my eventual price range (300-400k). I plan on a log home, and a large kitchen, several bathrooms ..etc.. but how to make it all fit together without looking like a dorm or cramming everyone in together? I have several creation programs, but I can't see human-sized beings within the designs to get a feel for spacial dynamics. Any suggestions? Wish it were as easy as it is in Sims2 :) 1) I am not building it now. I am planning for it now. Which is intelligent and common sense. 2) I've tried home designing products/planners/programs. I end up with huge space-wasting designs that don't give me an idea of cost/method.

 1. How efficient is it to build a house for ten twelve years before you need it? Have you heard the term "starter home"? One thing at a time there. If you have a pack of kids your house will be a dorm; no getting around that. PS Find an architect. They design homes for a living. One hour could teach you a lot.
 2. there are programs you can buy on the web for this ,I think one of them was video professor
