Help! Living-room/kitchen wall color?

Ok, rebuilding the kitchen/living room after Katrina. Medium brown wooden floors in kitchen, light wood cabinets, black counter tops, white molding. The kitchen is melted within the living room which has brown carpet and new furniture which we have yet to pick....what color should I paint the walls??? I just tried dark grey and I love the color but I don't think it matches the wood color...

  1. Pale yellow or a light tan might look nice...... Good luck
  2. Get a couple samples. I mean the ones you can paint on the wall. You could do a grey, but with all the browns it might be too dark. What about one accent wall with the dark grey, then a shade or two or three lighter in the same chip for the other walls. No one says all the walls need to be the same color. Have fun with it. It is only paint and you can always paint over it.
  3. 1st congratulation on surviving and rebuilding after katrina. i wouldn't go with dark grey on the walls unless it was only 1 wall and the wall had windows -after all the hard times wouldn't something a little brighter be the cure-try looking at sunny but warm colors in the golden hues that would coordinate with the dark grey and your woods if done right it will be stunning!a few colors to look @are behr paint in gold bluff or benjamin moores' concord ivory HC-12.&acorn yellow#2161-40 good luck
  4. try: rose pink peach or coral banana or light lemon mint or leaf green aqua or sky blue honey or caramel
  5. Katrina....ooo, my best to you and your family. I would suggest the following...... a yellow for the kitchen -Powell Buff a green shade living room - Brookside Moss Skip the gray....gray does nothing to make a home feel good...you didn't say much about the furniture colors... These are from the Pottery Barn but the colors are true and the paint is really Benjamin Moore Paints. I do a lot of decorating and painting and trust these paint....they also have the sample sizes you can purchase.....
