  3. In the part of the country where I live landscape design is a highly sought after career. I live in a wealthy southern area. No only do landscape "designers" do multimillion dollar houses, they design country club designs, village designs just about everything you can think of that's landscaped. Even low end subdivisions have landscape designers to do the front yards and the common areas like the park and pool area the subdivisions all have. Get that degree and move south!
