when you compromise the integrity of the bathroom how come lighting a match really does the trick?

- The sulphur residue after lighting the match will overpower the compromised area!!!! doesn't matter who, farted !!!
- My bathroom's integrity has NEVER been compromised and anyone who says otherwise is a supporter of the evil doers that seek to harm our peaceful way of living.
- Methane gas burns really good! That's what you are doing when you light a match. Same would work if you kept scented candles in the bathroom and lit them while you were in there, try it, you'll like it.....
- The gas that creates the smell, methane, is a flamable gas. If you light a match, you very quickly burn that gas and therefore the smell. There is no need to worry about an explosion, unless you have an extremely bad case on your hands. If the methane ever does become potent enough to maintain a flame, you would have passed out and not have been able to light the match anyways.
- OOOoops. Haha. The smell burnt matches for some reason over powers fart. I'm not sure why, but it works better than some stronger smells. i guess burnt match and fart just mix wel or something?
- Be careful, you may have a flash fire if you ignite the compromise.
- Striking a match doesn't really eliminate odors; it only masks them. The striking of a match produces sulfur dioxide which masks the methyl mercaptan, the natural gas released from decaying organic matter. (It's this gas which smells so terrible.) Interesting fact: Methyl mercaptan occurs naturally in some cheeses and nuts, and is also present in the blood, brain, and other tissues of the body.
- The smell of burnt sulphur from the match head quickly burns off and disperses the methane smell.
