Halloween-Not Giving Out Candy?
I'm not giving out candy this year. I plan on leaving all the lights in my house off and turning of the overhead lights and the lamp post. However, I have ground lighting in front of my house. It's in the flower beds and it highlights the landscaping/shrubs around my house. It's landscaping lighting and it's also solar powered, meaning I can only turn it off I pull the lights out. I don't want to do this. Do you think people will still come to my door even though the front lights and lamp post aren't on. Just the landscape lighting. My walkway has developed a crack in it. I'm worried people might trip and fall. This is the reason, I'm not having trick or treaters.

- yes. they'll probly come anywayss . just get a little box and make a sign taht sign that says take 2 pieces ( dont put candy in the box though) and when people show up they'll thin somebody took it all. - workss.
- knowin kids these days they probably will. u should leave a sign sayin, "no candy, please dont ring the doorbell or knock the door! sorry."
- Keep the landscape lighting on. If you want, put a "Do not disturb" sign on your front door.
- Probably not...In my neirborhood most people only will go to a house that has there front porch light on and there door open with halloween decorations out front.
- people go up to completely dark, undecorated houses all the time. someone is bound to come no matter what. so just don't answer the doorbell, and it works. oh that one persons candy box w/o any actual candy is really good, too. =)
- Well, for me it's a good theme for the Halloween..you can call it "THE TOTAL LIGHTNESS".
- Most kids wont go to a house when the actual house lights are not on. But you may get a few that will come up Put a sign on a chair in the driveway, and do that empty candy bucket suggestion.. Good luck! and Happy Halloween!
- i agree with the rest of them! empty candy bucket sounds like a REALLY good idea!!! most likely people will think you're havind out candy because the lights are on even thought hey're just landscape lights..... i would do the box and put a sign on the door!!! nothing wrong with not wanting to hand out candy!! it's just another way to trick people into spending lots of money!!
