SCAD interior Design?

if i attend scad for interior design will i be able to become a liscended professional in interior design. Their not accertited in interior design but their program is really good. if i go there for interior design will i not be able to get liscened in the end? Thanks you guys, you have some really good answers. but if i go to SCAD and work really hard will i get a good job and some how become licensed?

  1. I'm not sure...To become a licensed Interior Designer, you have to sit for an exam called the NCIDQ. When I took it, one of the criteria was that you had to have attended an accredited school. Back in the day (giving away my age here) the accreditation body was an organization called FIDER. I'm pretty sure that the name has changed, but am willing to bet that you won't be allowed to sit for the liscensure exam if your school has no accreditation. To be sure, check with your local chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers. www.asid.org. Good luck.
  2. There is no official license to be an Interior Designer. Some get affiliated with different organizations.
