In floor plans for houses what does the WC stand for in the toilet rooms?

  1. Water Closet. It's the British term for toilet. I don't know why it's on American floor plans, if it is.

  4. They use WC for water closet because its nationally recognized for a toilet and the symbol does not interfere with other symbols at the present. Even in the plumbing terms the flange for the toilet is called a closet flange.
