Home alarm systems? Which company, and why that company?
Who is the best company to go with. I want to know who and why you chose the company that you use. Please be detailed, but you don't have to go crazy with details. What accessory options do you have, and recommend? Basically, I am looking into getting one, I also have a building that would be hooked into the works. Thank you. 10 points will be awarded well, it is not becaue I am trying to save on my insurance, it is because I am not home a lot, and I would feel better at least having some eyes of some sort watching my place. My budget is alright. Im not rich, but I am above average. I live in a single family house which I am buying, and I have a building that is about 65 feet from my house, my shop which will also be added in. I live in a good area, one of the better areas in NC to live in. USA What I have that is worth protecting, is simply my house. household stuff. to protect against fire and theft. There will be no wires showing, that would eliminate the purpose of having it in my opinion.

- well i have CPI systems cuz its really cool and secure and easy to use, its also not too expensive, and ppl are really nice and u get a response from a real person back at the ststion in less then 5 seconds asking to identyfy urself and they call the police and everything for you, they also have a really good speaker that they can hear you whereever u are, only if the alarm goes off not all the time!!lol hope it helps!
- actually they all suck! if somebody actually wants to get into your house, they will alarm or not! I grew up with 7 Brothers, all gang bangers (No I am not proud) but cars with alarms- I can get into one in less than 3 mins, and you will never even hear the alarm! same with a home alarm... ppl who know how to do it, will not be deterred by the sign on your front lawn.
- I picked Slomins Security because it offered so many options for a very reasonable rate. I pay $30/month...I got a keypad, key fab (like a car remote but it works for your house), 3 door sensors and 3 motion detectors for free and free install. The best part, at least for me, is that it also came with 2 hard wired smoke/fire alarms that if tripped goes directly to the fire department. So if you aren't home and your house starts on fire then the FD would be notified. That is priceless to me.
- You haven't yet told us * what country you're in * what area you're in * what you've got that's worth protecting * what you want to protect it against -- fire, theft etc. * whether you require it for insurance purposes * whether it has to be professionally monitored * what your budget is * what sort of property you live in -- detached, duplex, apartment etc. * what your current security and alarm arrangements are * whether it matters that wiring might show or that batteries on wireless systems would require batteries Generally speaking, if you want an insurance reduction the system must be professionally installed and maintained - a VERY expensive exercise sometimes. Good local firms are often a much better option -- the crooks know how to get round the major companies' alarm systems which are very predictable. If it's not for insurance purposes you can do a very good system yourself for very little. A few hundred dollars rather than many thousands.
