Why are the smoke alarms in my house taking turn beeping?
Public Comments
- They want new batteries. Smoke alarms use a 9-volt alkaline battery, which should be replaced when the alarm starts chirping intermittently. Smoke alarms wired to house power don't do this.
- Probably need batteries. If the smoke alarms were all installed at the same time, it follows that the batteries would all be at the same stage of wearing out.
- they are telling you their batteries need to be changed ( honestly thats what it is)
- It sounds like they may have a low battery some of them beep when they need a new battery.
- Yup need to change the batteries.
- replace the batteries.
- Maybe the batteries need changing. If you use ammonia to clean or anything containing ammonia, the fumes will set off smoke alarms.
- you need to change the batteries. you also need to set up one day a month, prefferably one that you can remember to test all of your smoke alarms. Also, when you spring forward or fall back you need to replace your smoke detector batteries.
- Low battery alert..they are designed to do this so you will know when to replace them
