My smoke alarms keep going off for no reason?

What could be causing this?

1. Low batteries
2. More than likely the battery. If yours is NOT battery operated (hard wired), then it's basically just malfunctioning.
3. Probably needs new batteries or a smoulding fire somewhere.You don't nessecarily have to have a flame to set off a smoke detector.
4. replace the battery's
5. battery charger or battery mal funcutioning
6. if not batts., then possibly moisture or little crawling beasties.
7. Is it the old kind that is wired to the electric system? If yes, you need a new smoke alarm.
