  1. am not paying a fiver for something that I will never use!! talk sense
  2. I actually don't. I'm in a really old apartment and we just don't have fancy gadgets like that.
  3. Yes we have 2. It's compulsory to have them in households
  4. Yes we have one in every room.
  5. I do.......but they have no batteries and are sitting in a drawer....why not? I dunno really, I took them down when I painted the ceilings 7 years ago and never put them back up.....they probably need replacing now anyways. Thanks for reminding me.
  6. Yes, we have smoke detectors and they're mains rather than battery so we don't have to deal with that insane beeping at 4am (why do they only need changing in the middle of the night??) I hope Crispy above doesn't end up aptly named.
  7. we dont have it
  8. Smoke and monoxide, every level
  9. Sure do.
  10. Yes, everyone should have at least 2 - 1 in the kitchen and 1 in the hall. The kitchen as it's the most likely source of fire, and the hall as it's your means of escape from the property. If you can afford it, install mains powered alarms, and a heat detector instead of a smoke detector in the kitchen - heat detectors detect sudden/extreme rises temperature instead of smoke and it puts a stop to nuisance alarms from burnt toast.
  11. I own a flat which I have rented out, and installed smoke and carbon monoxide alarms in it, but we are now renting an apartment in Switzerland, and am ashamed to say that we don't have a smoke alarm here. Probably because we are only planning to stay here for a total of 2 years....No excuse!
  12. yeah, we have them, but we never test them
  13. Have Angel Alarms. Plug into the light fittings so they don't need batteries as the light charges them up. One downstairs, outside the kitchen. One at the top of the stairs.
  14. Yes I have mains powered ones. It's not worth the risk to go without.
  15. i have 4. one on each floor and 2 carbon monoxide detectors.
  16. Yes we have two.
  17. No. They were installed when I moved in, but I can't find them now. I took them out to paint, and never put them back, and I'm sure it's illegal not to have them installed. I am ashamed I don't. I see the tragedies that happen as a result, and I still haven't even tried to look for them. Is this a values statement? I think so, but I'll disagree. I am for real.
  18. Got one in the hallway and one upstairs that run from the mains. To those who have not got any the battery ones are cheap enough to buy so no excuse there not to have one.It may save your life one day and all for about £20 for two at the most.
  19. Yes we have them.
