Full Spread Vinyl Flooring?
When installing full spread vinyl flooring - how long does the adhesive need to set before positioning the vinyl over it? My husband's uncle said to wait until it turns clear and then position the vinyl otherwise the adhesive will never dry. Does this sound right? If so, about how long will it take for the adhesive to turn clear? Thanks.

- you c an lay the vinyll as soon as you lay the glue. It will dry about as soon as you get the floor covering down. They have lacqure type glue now and its fast drying.
- You need to follow the directions for the vinyl and glue you are using. Some are laid wet some are laid dry, some are laid with a short open time to allow for part drying. You need to follow dorections. Do it wrong and it will fail.
- He's absolutely wrong. You roll the sheet goods into the adhesive as soon as you've troweled it on and then hit it with a 100 lb. roller. If you wait the glue will get tacky and you will never get the bubbles out and run the risk of tearing the vinyl when you roll it. The glue that turns clear is called Clear Thin Spread adhesive for VCT (vinyl composition tile) and SHOULD NEVER be used for vinyl. When in doubt, never ask his uncle again.
- Uncle is correct.
