Cork flooring?
Advantages, disadvantages. How does it hold up as far as cleaning, heavy traffic, pets, etc.?

- I have cork flooring in my house and I love it!! It is very easy to clean and doesnt dull like hardwood does. It is softer on the feet than wood or tile and absorbs sound better. No click clacking when you walk on it with shoes, just dont wear your stilettos on it, it does dent a little easier. It is also great if you have people with allergies because it doesnt hold on the dust like other flooring. the dust just kind of rolls to the edges of the room, rather than clinging everywhere. Its easy to install and will usually "float" on top of existing flooring, so no need to rip old stuff out unless you want to. Also the cork trees arent chopped down like regular trees, the cork is mearly pulled from around the tree leaving it to produce more cork. Cork is a little more money, but I think well worth it.
- When doing a complete room makeover, decide on the floor material while you are making other major choices. Most prefinished wood flooring requires maintenance, and with proper care they will last for years.
