Is laminate flooring a wise choice, is it hard to install?

I have a downstairs masterbedroom. It is carpeted, but I would Love a hard surface floor instead. Most of the downstairs is tiled, however in my room I dont want tile floor or carpet. Is laminate flooring a good choice? Is it hard to install?

  1. Laminate is a good hard surface that is durable and easy to take care of. Installation is relatively easy if you are good with a measuring tape, a miter saw, and a table saw. Don't get the cheapest laminate that you can buy. If you are installing over concrete, there is a special underpad that is used to keep the moisture from getting into the laminate.
  2. The laminate is a great choice. It is very easy to install since it interlocks. It's also very durable and looks great! My mother in law and ex husband have it, and we will be installing it in our living room when we get to that part of the house. Good luck!
  3. A good timber laminate will last you about 10 years, the cost of the materials are not expensive but laying and pulling up old carpet often is so if you can see to that you are going well if your room is square then you can get the ones that click together and you can do that yourself, make sure that you leave thecarpet underlay down to support the timber otherwise it will bow in places.
  4. Most Laminate floors features a glueless locking tongue and groove for faster, less messy installations. Laminate can be installed using the floating installation method over an approved floating floor underlayment. It can be used over most subfloors including wooden, concrete and even existing vinyl or tile. It can be installed by both Professional Flooring Installers and Do It Yourself homeowners. We have an installation link and helpful tips on our site.
