Flooring for my Mama?
My mother really wants wooden flooring throughout the house. My father, however loves saving money. Their carpet is 20 years old, way past its expiration date. Where can I find good quality wood flooring w/o spending a lot of money? I would buy my mother wood flooring but I'm 2 bills away from being flat broke. Thanks.

- Laminate flooring is the way to go. It is inexpensive and you can install it yourself. Also, it's prefinished so you save a ton of money on material and labor. You can but it at any flooring store or Home Depot or Lowes. Somebody's always got it on sale. This link will show you haw to install it.
- you may also concider some tile with a 'wood floor look' it is a lot less expensive than laminate. we put down the tiles in our home and people have comented on how great our wood floors look.
- There is a product at Lowe's and similar stores called a floating floor. It is a snap to add-on and uses no adhesives. It is VERY affordable. However if you are that broke I just don't see how you would further anything by going bankrupt for flooring. Pay your bills and let mom and dad buy the flooring that they want!!!
- i agree with pixieotr - my house needed new flooring and we were on a very tight budget. we used tiles that have the wood like appearance and it looks like real wood floors and no one knows the difference but us. i saved like $100 just on flooring tiles and did it myself and saved another $100. i was so proud. good luck.
