- I don't think there is a reputable company out there that just isn't after a buck$. When I bought this house it had an alarm system installed. The kids set off the alarm and the cops came. When I called the alarm company to not have them monitor it (I wasn't paying for the service) they gladly sent out a guy. 2 weeks later I get a bill for $79. I call them and explain that you are the one's saving money because now you won't be notified when my alarm goes off. They sent me to collections. What jerks! They never got their money... Just cover entry into your house and let the neighbors call the cops from hearing a very loud alarm. Best advice I can give you...
