What tools should I use to get the best finish when painting my cabinets?
I know that a sprayer would be preferrable, but I'm not about to buy one for a one-time use. SO, should i use a roller, a foam roller, or just some good brushes? I will be using a white satin kitchen&bath latex-based primer and paint. I'd like the smoothest finish possible....

- Decide the type of finish you want on the project, because the roller will have a different outcome than the foam, and the brushes will have a different outcome than the foam and roller.
- to attain the smoothest possible finish use the foam roller
- The most important factor here is temperature of the cabinets when you apply the finish. The cabinets should be room temperature or slightly higher (70 - 80 F). This will allow the finish to "flatten" and not leave brush strokes or roller strokes. The second most important item is the contour of the cabinets. If they are flat then a roller will work best. If they have raised panels or trim, then a brush is a must to reach the corner pockets and crevasses and to remove any excess buildup of finish.
