plans/designs for a typical high school woodshop class tool storage cabinet with lockable doors.?

I have been looking to create a storage cabinet for a wood working shop like the ones I remember in high school, but don't want to start from scratch. Are there any plans/designs or something pre-built that I would be able to purchase. I was looking at something that would be aprox. 72"Hx96"Wx24"D with hinged fold out deep doors that would accomodate hand tools to be stored on the inside of the doors. The doors would be aprox. 8" deep. The military might have something like this, but I haven't had the chance to serve so I don't know if this exists in the armed forces. Any help would be greatly appreciated. -Thomas

  1. We use this type of cabinet at work for basically the same purpose. They are made of steel and are very durable. The doors have casters to help bear the weight of the movable tote trays attached thereon. I could look for the manufacturer and get back to you, but I suggest trying Grainger, McMaster-Carr or MSC catalogs. There are also custom made manufacturers but unless you have deep pockets or only need a few the cost may be prohibitive. Hope this helps.
