Approximately how much will it cost to remodel foreclosed home?
I found a foreclosed home I'd like to purchase. The home has about 3000 square feet plus a basement. To start, it needs new hard wood floors, paint in every room, new light fixtures in every room, and a new garage door. The kitchen also needs new cabinets and countertops. All three bathrooms also need to be updated. About how much?

- Depends on where you live...give more info. (I'm in Chicago) I'd guess your looking at around $55,000.
- Kitchen cabinets and countertops are very expensive, as are new wood floors, even if you're going with laminiate. We just paid $3000 for a Silestone counter in our kitchen, and paid $5000 for the laminate flooring in 2 rooms and a large hallway. The paint will cost a few hundred, unless you're going to have it painted by someone, then add quite a bit more onto that. Your best bet would be to have a contractor come and give you an estimate. The materials you're going to use will greatly affect that cost of the projects.
- Any where from $20,000 to $150,000. It depends on if it's going to be contracted or do it yourself, and how fancy you want it done.
