There is a smell when I open certain cabinets in the kitchen. It reminds me of a smell that is in the garages
The smell reminds me of a pet smell or the smell of mice. Could animals live in the attic ot soemthing in the same exact place??

- Clean out your cabinets WELL. Make sure to clean teh walls of it etc. with cleaner. Sometimes mice run through cabinets and pee on things. It'd be best to get pest control out. Make sure there's no holes for them to get through.
- Yes! Once I had a mouse die, inside between the walls! It smell for weeks! But if you check every cabinet for loose boards, you will know. Use baking soda to absorb, the odor on all your cabinets. Spray do not work, only cover-up for short time. Use a several boxes of baking soda!
- We have lived in 2 different 1960s-era houses, and have noticed that older cabinets often have an odor like you are describing. A musty, almost-urine smelling odor. You could have a humidity problem, or plumbing leak in the wall. Also, previous owners may have been unclean, and the wood is just retaining that odor. Painting the interior of the cabinets and putting a bucket of Damp Rid inside the cabinet has helped a lot here.
