Installing Our Own Kitchen Cabinets (?) Please?

We're thinking about buying the oak stained cabinets from Lowe's. I've just one question though, that is, I'd like to have a cabinet with 2 large pull out pot and pan drawers. This is a cabinet that would probably be custom made from Lowe's but we can't afford to have one built. We need to use stock cabinets. Is there a way and hardware that we could use on one of the base cabinets from Lowe's and design this feature ourselves? Thanks and I hope somebody has already did this for their kitchen.

  1. See shelvesthatslide.com or search google for "pull out drawers". Tons of options
  2. Forget Lowe's go next door to Ikea you can design it yourself online and they have base cabinets with large pan drawers.
  3. Lowe's sell stock base cabinets with deep drawers. Just ask.
  4. Sure.Go back to Lowe's and see what they have for replacement doors in the pattern you selected. base cab doors are usually 28" long. Get 10" wide doors and they will fit horizontally on a 30" base cabinet. The center stile will have to be removed, and a new horizontal stile will be needed between drawers. Drawers may be available to fit inside the cabinet. Otherwise you can buy the drawer slides at Lowe's, and build drawers to match interior of cabinet. Then attach 10" x 28" doors horizontally to the doors, add drawer pulls.
  5. I ordered my pull out drawers from shelvesthatslide.com. I installed into my existing cabinets, just sent them the sizes and heights that I needed. It took about 3 weeks to receive the custom drawers but well worth the wait and price. *For your info, do order the full extend drawer for the bottom drawers, it really does help to do that. Good luck in the updates in your kitchen.
