Cabinets????
We just bought a house and the kitchen cabinets have the hardware right in the middle of the cabinets(why? couldn't tell ya) but how could we fix this problem cheaply, we want them to look normal.

- The easy part is to remove and relocate the hardware, the hard part is to cover the holes left in the wood. If you have painted wood, just fill in and paint, if not, maybe you can find a decoration to fit in or cover the holes, Good Luck
- If I were you, I would remove the hardware and replace the hardware where you want it on the door. Then with the hole that is left behind because you removed the hardware in the middle of the cabinets, I would find a "medallion" that you like and mount it to the cabinet over the old hole. Just remember when selecting the medallion that you want something that you can mount from the back of the cabinet door so the fasteners are not exposed on the front of the cabinet door. Barring the total replacement of the cabinet door you can dress up the cabinets and solve your problem relatively cheap. Hope it helps....
- Are they stained or painted?? Either way you'll have to remove the hardware and fill the holes. If stained use a wood filler trying to get as close to the color you have now and urethane the fronts. If painted use a painters putty and repaint the fronts, I don't think you'll get away with a touch up on the finish which ever way you go, Good luck Les the painter
- We redid our kitchen cabinets last year. We wanted new hardware and didn't like the old. Take off the old hardware and clean cabinets. We filled in the hole with wood putty. We then painted ours. I am not sure about stained, but you fan buy a marker like wood color stick. You could use it. Or wood stain like Old English. Go to Home Depot or Lowes. They sell a little plastic guage to measure and put new handles on. You measure, mark and drill. Very easy. I got new knows very very cheaply on EBAY!!!!!! Good Luck~~!!!!!
